My birthplace

I was born in Velké Meziříčí at a local castle ( www.mestovm.cz ). :-)

An original stronghold was built about 1230. It is one of the oldest stone aristocratic castles in Moravia. Roman-Gothic stronghold was rebuilt in the 16th century to a renaissance castle. After a fire in 1730 it was rebuilt in the baroque style. First known owners were the Lords of Meziříčí. During the centuries 13 aristocratic families changed there. The last family of Podstat-Lichenstein left in 1948 abroad and the castle was put under the state ownership. The castle was reconstructed in 1995. The Museum of Velké Meziříčí has a seat in the castle. There is a big park by the castle which is open to the public. The highway bridge „Vysočina“ runs above the park. There is a wooden roofed bridge installed near the highway bridge which was in the village of Krásněves earlier.

I lived out my childhood and adolescence at a small village Kněževes ( district Žďár nad Sázavou )
